Summer Reading Programs

My kids, especially my daughter, loves summertime because she tries to earn as much free stuff as she can through various summer reading programs. Our library offers an incentive program and the kids are entered in a drawing for reading so many books. Other libraries are giving prizes.

Here are some national summer reading programs:

Borders Summer Reading Double Dog Dare Program for Kids under 12 - Read any ten books and get one free book from a list of twelve different titles. You must print, fill out form and take in-store to redeem.

Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge - While Scholastic isn't offering prizes, my daughter is still excited abou this site because she can help break the world record. Your child can log their reading, play games and get ideas for new books to read.

Barnes and Noble Summer Reading - If your child reads eight books over the summer, they can pick out a free book. You can download the form online, but will need to go into a store to pick out your free book.

Anyone know of any other summer reading programs?

Check with your local library. Ours hosts a reading program and the kids get stickers and entries into drawings.
