Now that my kdis are out of school for the summer, I have been thinking of ways to help encourage them to read during the break. Since many kids are motivated by using the computer, watching TV and playing video games, I have been thinking of setting up an incentive program where they can earn extra screen time tickets through reading. For example, if my daughter reads for 30 minutes during the day, then they earn two tickets that they can exchange to watch an extra television program that night.
